Exhausted

What would normally be a 15-minute drive today took 60 minutes. I'm exhausted from being stuck in traffic. Is that normal? I left work today at 4:40, which is just ten minutes later than usual. There was heavy rain, but could it be just the weather that caused such crazy traffic? I had flashbacks to gridlock rush hour on the nj ramp to/from the Lincoln tunnel.
